Jack is standing in front of Satellite, the birthplace of D-Wheels, and looking very annoyed. Meanwhile, Yusei is carrying Sect on his D-Wheel. He hopes Sect will hold on as he is taking him to a hospital now. Suddenly, Yusei is attacked by a scythe of a giant monster. He quickly dodges it and wonders what this monster is. Jack jumps off on his Wheel of Fortune and is impressed by that a Satellite scum did a great job to avoid the attack of his monster. Yusei looks very mad that it was Jack's doing.
Note: In manga, it appears that Jack and Yusei haven't known each other before. |
Seeing Yusei riding a D-Wheel, Jack asks whether Yusei is a Riding Duelist. Yusei asks back what matters if he is. Jack thus challenges him into a duel. Yusei understands at this moment that Jack is also a Riding Duelist. He looks at Sect on his back and denies Jack's challenge. He has no time to be Jack's opponent now but agrees to have a riding duel with him later.
Yusei then takes off quickly to take Sect to the hospital. Jack understands that Yusei is running away and doesn't allow him to do so. He begins to chase after Yusei. Yusei notices Jack coming after very fast, so he speeds up and moves into a draining tunnel. Jack feels that this is fun and he doubts whether Yusei really thinks think he can outrun his full-tuned Wheel of Fortune.
Jack attacks Yusei again. Yusei realizes that he can't shake Jack off, so he defends himself by drawing a card and summoning Junk Blader. Jack sees this and says that by doing that, he is dueling and that he accepts his challenge. Yusei finds that his back is against the wall and he accepts the duel. The monsters are reset and both player's LP are set at 4000.
1st Turn - Jack
Jack draws a card to run his first turn. He summons [Ash Gash the Ash Kin ~ Gaijinou Ash King - 4/1000/1200: When this card inflicts damage, reduce its level by 1] to the field in attack position. Setting up a face-down card, he ends his turn.
2nd Turn - Yusei
Yusei draws a card in his turn and special summons [Junk Forward - 3/900/1500: If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand]. This card can be special summoned when only the opponent controls a monster.
Yusei thinks that when he leaves the draining tunnel, there will be hospital. Until he reaches there, he must end this duel as soon as possible. Jack smiles and opens his face-down spell card [Dark Flare - Quick Play Spell: When a monster is Special Summoned, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Fire-Attribute monster from your hand]. It allows him to special summon 1 Fire-Attribute monster from his hand when a special summon is done.
Note: Manga just mentions that this card is a spell card. Since it is played in the opponent's turn, we assume that it is a quick-play spell card. Otherwise, manga may apply a special rule that allows a spell card to be played in the opponent's turn. |
Because Yusei has just special summoned a monster, Jack is able to special summon a Fire monster [Flame Crime the Crimson King - 3/1700/300: Inflicts damage equal to a number of Fire-Attribute monsters x 400 points to your opponent] from his hand to the field in attack position. He activates its monster effect to inflict 400 damage for each Fire-Attribute monster to the opponent. Flame is fired over Yusei, dropping his LP to 3600 (4000-400).
Note: Normally, a monster effect can be activated only in the main phase of a player's turn unless a card is mentioned otherwise. The effect of Flame Crime the Crimson King isn't described clearly whether this effect can be used in the opponent's turn. We thus assume that this effect can be activated during the opponent's turn or this play may be allowed only in manga. |
Yusei notices that the level of Jack's "Feel" is much different from other Riding Duelists he has fought. He isn't sure whether he will be able to defeat Jack by his injured body and current D-Wheel (He has just finished a tough duel with the Skeleton Knight). Thinking about Sect on his back, Yusei tells himself that he can't afford to be defeated here.
Note: As a reminder, "Feel" is a term commonly used in this 5D's manga. It refers to intense of a duel created by players. |
Still in the first main phase of Yusei, he normal summons a tuner monster [Apprentice Warrior of the Screw - 2/500/800] to the field in attack position. Seeing Yusei's tuner monster, Jack doubts whether Yusei also plays a synchro. As expected, Yusei tunes Apprentice Warrior of the Screw into Junk Forward, synchro summoning [Scar Warrior - 5/2100/1000: This card cannot be destroyed by battle for 1 time. Your opponent must attack this card] to the field in attack position.

Yusei uses the drainpipe to charge his Feel up to max, riding in circles and declaring his attack, "Brave Dagger!," upside down toward Flame Crime the Crimson King. Jack sees Yusei doing acrobatics. Scar Warrior cleaves the monster's head square off. Jack's LP drops to 3600 (4000+1700-2100). Yusei asks how Jack feels before getting shocked that Feel did nothing to Jack. Jack asks whether Yusei's Feel is only at this level.
Finally, both Jack and Yusei leave the draining tunnel. Yusei is surprised by seeing a graveyard of D-Wheels. Jack tells him, "I'll show you a real Feel...! The Feel of the King that will pulverize your D-Wheel to bits!!."
